Overview

Creatively translate concepts into written word and visual presentation in a clear and concise manner for effective communication with the intended audience.  To support Trustmark’s Corporate Communications through the development, implementation, and distribution of internal and external communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing, proofreading and editing copy to support the company’s communications objectives, (primarily internal) ensuring voice and tone of Trustmark are maintained across all mediums and that calls to action are clear, strong and appropriate from a business perspective
    • Intranet – TRIP, carousel images, and News briefs articles
    • All Associate email messages, posters, presentations, surveys, etc.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and distribution of a broad range of external communication materials, including print, website, social media, emails, press releases, presentations, event collateral, blogs, etc.
  • Research topics for messages, identify relevant information for use in blogs and other materials
  • Create plans, project timelines and schedules for content for blogs, Trustmark’s Intranet, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce content that is relevant and meaningful to the intended audience
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Corporate Communications Manager or Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with subject matter experts across all lines of business and with external vendors utilized by Trustmark for communications and marketing efforts
  • Maintain Everbridge Crisis Communications system
    • Ensure ongoing preparedness of crisis communication system and coordinating routine updates to the Trustmark associate contact database
    • Create training and awareness materials for associates
    • Administer periodic system testing
    • Document broadcast results for identifying and recommending enhancements to procedures
    • Analyze broadcast results in actual event to measure system effectiveness and track associate confirmation/response
    • Serve as Crisis Communications back-up for Corporate Communications Manager
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience demonstrating excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Trustmark’s corporate structure and culture
  • Advanced knowledge in word usage, grammar, sentence structure and paragraphing
  • Knowledge of PC-based word processing, presentation, desktop publishing and spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of PC or MAC-based word processing, presentation, desktop publishing and spreadsheet software (Must pass Intermediate Word and Excel and Basic PowerPoint)
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coherently for all levels of associates, strong interpersonal skills
  • Great attention to details

  • Self-motivated; must be able to work independently, without close supervision

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation, while viewing computer screens.
