Overview

The responsibility of this position includes creating and updating records within the Trustmark Customer Information System. The specialist ensures data accuracy by working with front-line department staff and addresses instances where required information is missing.  This position will maintain reliable records, support customer service, and ensure compliance with regulations such as BSA, the US Patriot Act, and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Process and index customer documents by preparing, scanning, and verifying digital images, while accurately classifying document types to ensure efficient retrieval.
  • Identify invalid work items and return documents to originators with clear communication.
  • Review incoming document submissions to perform data entry, validate image quality, and determine appropriate indexing and scrubbing actions, including renaming, merging, or separating pages as needed.
  • Store images in accordance with organizational guidelines and troubleshoot software or equipment issues as needed.
  • Verify and process address updates, manage status codes, and complete various work items across electronic queues to maintain accurate customer records.
  • Cite exceptions for work items when necessary and manage daily tasks or projects to maximize productivity, including cross-training support.
  • Support internal associates with CIS-related tasks and inquiries involving miscellaneous accounts and loans.
  • Communicate with Branch/Retail associates, IT Information Systems, and other departments to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Solid data entry skills and some knowledge of records maintenance procedures
    • Must pass 10-key (data entry) assessment.
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize daily duties/responsibilities.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Maintain focus while performing repetitive tasks and consistently retain information to ensure high accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to learn quickly and meet strict deadlines.
  • Deliver a customer-focused, people-oriented approach in all interactions..
  • Utilize basic computer skills and foundational knowledge of banking documents to support daily tasks.

Preferred:

  • Prior background in data entry/operations/customer service preferred
  • One (1) year of administrative experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of banking operations, processes, and functions preferred
  • Experience following policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions preferred
  • Advanced computer skills and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
