Overview

The Deposit Servicing Specialist will be responsible for completing assigned research functions and duties, such as balancing/reconciling G/L and DDA accounts and fulfilling incoming research requests timely and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Balance/reconcile G/L and DDA accounts
  • Initiate and or follow up for responses to clear exceptions for balancing/reconciling accounts
  • Fulfill research requests including, statement reconstructions, deposit reconstructions, single items, IRS reporting corrections, and subpoenas
  • Process IRS tax levies and safe deposit box payments and maintenance
  • Verify CD/IRA interest checks and provide IRA technical support
  • Communicate with other business entities, financial institutions, and areas of the bank to establish relationships for escalating and expediting issues, exceptions, and requests for resolution
  • Assist other associates on assigned duties as need    
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Solid math skills with some knowledge of balancing/reconciling procedures
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, meet strict deadlines, and adhere to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions
  • Basic computer, calculator, and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must pass basic Excel testing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • People-oriented with customer focus
  • Previous banking experience with general knowledge of Deposit Operations, bank operations, and industry preferred 
  • Basic understanding of the check clearing system through the Federal Reserve and other banks preferred 
  • Knowledge of the deposits system, reporting applications, and the general ledger preferred
