The purpose of this job is to service larger commercial lines books of business in order to free the producer to sell.
Submit applications with proper documentation and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies. Negotiate premiums and commissions with underwriters in an aggressive and professional manner. Prepare proposals and provide other technical support in the sales process as needed.
Request and process all policies, endorsements, binders, schedules, certificates, audits, and cancellations, including invoicing.
Inform and educate clients about policy coverage’s, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs. Assist in the design of, or independently design, insurance plans for clients. Complete and maintain Bottrell’s coverage checklist for each client assigned. Make physical calls on customers and prospects as needed.
Advise producer when any condition exists when coverage or documentation does not conform to any party’s coverage expectations. Assist in the resolution of such matters.
Stay informed regarding industry information, new product development, legislation, coverage’s, and technology to continually improve knowledge and performance.
Develop a minimum of 3 new P&C prospect accounts annually
Make a minimum of 1 referral per quarter to the Employee Benefits department.
Full knowledge of commercial property and casualty industry operations, including insurance products and usage, adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverage’s, and the ability to explain them
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately
Must have professional appearance and attitude at all times
High school education
Agents property and casualty license and a minimum of 5 years commercial property and casualty experience as a commercial underwriter or underwriter assistant, commercial lines CSR at an independent agency, or commercial P&C Producer
