  • Overview

    The purpose of this job is to offer and implement innovative strategies focused on measurable results for Retirement Plan Sponsors and their participants by understanding and meeting client needs, identifying participant behaviors, providing ongoing education programs and the appropriate application of resources.


    • Identify and satisfy needs of client sponsored retirement plans in order to make such plans an effective employee retention tool for clients
      • Participate in on-site client and participant presentations including sales presentations, annual plan reviews and participant education meetings.
      • Initiate client follow-up on a regular basis, working in collaboration with Relationship Managers and vendor reporting tools.
      • Conducts meetings on market overview, diversification, saving for retirement, retirement planning services and options at retirement; incorporate personnel from Trustmark Investment Advisors and Wealth Management Consultants as needed and appropriate
      • Reach participants on a Plan Sponsor level through broadcast messages and targeted level, i.e. age groups, participants not contributing at levels to receive company match, participants invested in only money market or stable value funds. Delivery methods, in coordination with platform partners, will include:
        • Digital - webinars, emails, mobile texts and website messages, Print - newsletters, posters, direct mail, statement messages and\or Meetings - One-on-One meeting and plan specific webinars, onsite seminars
    • Responsible for development and execution of an effective education and communication plan to and for plan participants
      • Research, design, write and edit client communications programs using a multimedia approach, ie., print, electronic, in-person etc.
      • Proactively recommend and new communication and education initiatives based on marketplace observations, participants and client needs.
      • Coordinates\partners with other departments to develop and deliver various types of communications and presentations. Department for new company relationships and assists in managing existing company relationships as needed

    • Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of retirement plan services and products as well as workflows of enrollment
    • Knowledge of current issues and marketplace trends.
    • Knowledge of methods to employ various types of media in communications and presentations
    • Working knowledge of various forms of retirement plan platforms preferred
    • Must be client facing with excellent client relationship management skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Demonstrated leadership ability
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to negotiate successfully in varied business settings both internally and externally
    • Strong attention to detail; experience proofreading and editing is preferred
    • Working ability in Office 365 product sets
    • Strong presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, the value of products, services and ideas to key audiences.        
    • Must possess problem solving skills to include being proactive and resourceful
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills that enable working well with others, ability to work as a team leader or team member and interact effectively with all levels of employees including senior executives.
    • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
    • Able to develop and execute project plans and manage multiple assignments at a time and work well under pressure

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Business Administration, Marketing or related field required

    • Previous experience in the retirement plan or benefits consulting marketplace, with demonstrated expertise across various marketing disciplines including client communications programs preferred
