Overview

The purpose of this job is to be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling Employee Benefits insurance and services. 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops insurance prospects based on insurability and quality of risk.  Develops of completes sales objective. Designs insurance plans including recommendations of coverage, creates insurance proposals, and makes sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business. Meets assigned annual; book of business goal by working to retain existing clients and add new business.
  • Produce new employee benefits accounts by developing and executing business calling plan on leads and prospects in order to develop business relationship leading to designing of insurance plan including recommendations of coverage.  Create insurance proposals and makes sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business in order to make sale. Must produce minimum new business commission of $50,000 or as assigned and must also meet or exceed annual production goal assigned by Agency.
  • Completes annual continuing education requirements for licensing and other duties as assigned by Agency management.

Qualifications

  • Full knowledge of employee benefits insurance products and usages
  • Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverage’s, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospect lists
  • Must be aggressive/assertive, a self-starter with the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications
  • Must have substantive sales skills
  • College education or equivalent insurance experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • Applicable State Life and Health License required within 6 months of hire date; Applicable P&C license in addition is preferred
