Overview

The purpose of this job is to assist the Director in the formation and execution of Trustmark’s data governance framework, policy, and standards. This position assists in the implementation of an enterprise data governance program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for serving as business owner of Trustmark’s data glossary and aiding in the formation of an enterprise data governance program by developing and executing the necessary framework, policy, and standards
  • Responsible for managing the enterprise-wide data workflow process, including identification, definition, cataloging, and securing the necessary approvals required to ensure data integrity, the development of complex queries, and the provision of meaningful reports
  • Serve as secretary of Trustmark’s Data Council, preparing the agenda and producing supportive meeting materials, and recording the minutes associated with all meetings
  • Provide responsible leadership by developing effective business partnerships between SBU data owners and IT data stewards, creating communication channels and control structures that ensure accuracy and promote the upstream and downstream flow of quality data

 

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of data, databases, and IT architecture
  • Knowledge of banking and financial services
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements regarding the use of data
  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Visio)
  • Basic level of proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: (SQL, VBA, C#, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Ability to speak both business and IT languages
  • Ability to work effectively across the organization providing subject matter leadership and with a high level of customer service
  • Must be detail oriented with proven ability to manage complex processes within defined time parameters
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Ability to analyze various technology solutions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or related field required
  • At least 1 year of experience in banking and financial services required
  • At least 3 years of similar level data analysis or data quality experience required
